All Ages Podiatry are experts when it comes to assessing the Biomechanics of the foot.
A Biomechanical Assessment involves checking range of motion, muscle strength, bone and joint alignment, foot structure and posture. This also takes the lower legs, thighs, hips and lower back into consideration as the feet can have a profound effect on the lower back as well as all the structures in between. Likewise, the lower back can have a profound effect on the feet as well as all the structures in between.
A Gait Assessment is also performed. This involves the Podiatrist assessing the way that you walk. All this information is then considered, and a treatment plan developed. This could involve stretching, muscle strengthening, shockwave therapy, off the shelf orthotics, custom made orthotics, footwear advice, heel lifts and many other options.
