What to expect

One of the All Ages Podiatry team members will talk you through the process prior to treatment commencing. Gel is applied to the affected area and the handpiece pressed against the skin. A shockwave is generated within the handpiece in rapid succession which travels into the soft tissue. The treatment process is usually described as uncomfortable, however many patients state they have a significant reduction in pain immediately following treatment. Treatment usually takes less than 20 minutes, is non-invasive and can be tailored to each patient’s individual needs. Generally, 3-5 treatments are required 5-7 days apart.
